While only about 30 miles north of the city, The Woodlands can feel like a world away with its infamous tree-lined streets. Here is a look at what makes The Woodlands a desired destination:

Catch a concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - Chris Tomlin, Dave Matthews Band and Train all have upcoming shows. The Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet also have scheduled performances. Shop ‘til you drop with the area’s unique blend of well-known brands and boutiques. Market Street is home to retailers such as BONOBOS, Hemline and Tory Burch while Anthropologie, Nordstrom and Pottery Barn can be shopped at The Woodlands Mall.

Do not forget your appetite! The food scene in The Woodlands serves up something for everyone. Newly opened Tris was recently awarded three out of four stars by Houston Chronicle’s Alison Cook. Chef Austin Simmons has created lunch, happy hour and dinner menus with worldly flavors showcased by delectable choices such as Thai Blue Crab fingers, Kimchi mashed potatoes to accompany your favorite cut of beef and a Tankatsu miso ramen. If you want to spice things up a little, make a visit to Schilleci’s New Orleans Kitchen. The French Quarter style restaurant on Market Street treats diners to Louisiana classics like seafood gumbo and crawfish étouffée. You will definitely want to order dessert - their beignets are prepared using Café Du Monde’s infamous recipe. Another bonus? They have five sommeliers on staff and $10 off any bottle of wine or champagne Wednesday and Thursday nights from 5-9pm. Date night anyone?

Even restaurants with a national presence are making their way to the area. Snooze recently opened their seventh Houston area restaurant here and healthy go-to’s Flower Child and True Food Kitchen also have a presence. Local favorites such as Mia’s Table, Goode Co Kitchen & Cantina and bellagreen are also aplenty. Craving something sweet? CRAVE serves up bakery treats and their signature cupcakes morning to night. They also have coffee making them an unexpected breakfast spot.
