Discover Montrose

If the Pantone color of the year were akin to a Houston neighborhood, Montrose would be it. Buzzing with diverse establishments, the overall vibe is vibrant and engaging with plenty of opportunities for a more mellow experience.

For those not participating in dry January or enduring Whole 30 (congrats to those who are!), Westheimer offers an abundance of watering holes to enjoy a libation. Have your pick from a list of 100 curated craft cocktails at the infamous Anvil Bar & Refuge – great for a date night or intimate gathering. If your Instagram account favors a bright and bold aesthetic, Present Company is the spot for you. Order one of their signature cocktails, Principal Kisses Alligator or Stranger Danger, served via a can of La Croix to complete your Instagrammable experience. Of course, no bar crawl is complete without a stop at La Grange to have a drink as you people watch from their two-story patio. The casual Montrose outpost has plenty of familiar drinks on the menu and for those who favor a late-night snack, Tex-Mex inspired eats.

If coffee is more your vice, look no further than Montrose mainstay, Blacksmith. Stop in for breakfast or lunch and enjoy their interpretation of coffee house favorites such as a cane sugar latte or scratch square biscuits. Need to get your creative juices flowing with your caffeine fix? Honey Art Café, the brainchild of two Rice University grads, crafts food and drinks with all natural ingredients and fresh seasonal fruits without the use of artificial colors or flavors. The café also encourages patrons to indulge in playful expression through weekly art classes. For a cup with a bit of culture, Campesino Coffee House serves Latin-inspired coffee drinks in a cozy bohemian setting.

Need to feed the whole family? Grab a bite at East Hampton Sandwich Company. The Dallas-based eatery’s second Houston location offers an eclectic menu sure to satisfy any sandwich aficionado, including a fluffernutter for younger diners. Mark your calendar – another Dallas born establishment is making its way to Montrose. Magical Dessert Bar debuts in February with an array of colorful treats inspired by the fanciful unicorn.

Once you have had your fill of eating and drinking, head over to Dripped Nails and indulge in a mani/pedi. The nail spa specializes in unique designs offering the perfect opportunity to try a bolder look.

After, put those polished fingers to good use and pick up a novelty from Space Montrose. The specialty boutique features a handcrafted selection of jewelry, art, home goods, and more.
