Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys is celebrating 57 years in Houston with celebrity chef sandwiches for charity. The popular sandwich shop is enlisting local celebrities and chefs to create their own iconic sandwiches as part of the “H-Town Originals” campaign. Each celebrity will have a sandwich on the menu at Antone’s fast-casual sandwich shops for at least one month, with 50 percent of sales from that sandwich benefitting his or her favorite charity. At the end of the campaign, Antone’s will donate an additional $5,000 to the charity selected by the celebrity whose sandwich had the highest volume of sales.

Hip hop legend Bun B kicked off the campaign with a “Hot Wang Sandwich”, which will be available through the end of September. The proceeds from sales of the sandwich will benefit Second Servings of Houston, which strives to alleviate hunger and reduce waste by rescuing excess prepared and perishable food and delivering it promptly to approved charitable meal sites.

The WithMerci Foundation supports families of children with disabilities and special needs, and Down Syndrome is the Foundation’s 2019-20 partnering disability.

Other participants in the “H-Town Originals” campaign include, Donkeeboy (Local artist Alex Roman Jr.), Kaiser Lashkari (James Beard Award-nominated chef at Himalaya), Pierce Bush (CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star), Ryan Lachaine (Executive Chef at Riel Restaurant), Kam Franklin (The Suffers), and Brock Wagner (Founder of Saint Arnold Brewing).
